1970 "454" Berger Camaro History: : In 1970, the second generation
Camaro could not be ordered with the newest Chevrolet big block, the
454 cubic inch engine. However, this did not stop a select few high
performance Chevrolet dealers from allowing customers to order Camaros
with a "dealer installed" 454 cubic inch engine. The most
well-known of these were the Baldwin Motion Phase III Camaros. Few
of these 454 Camaros remain today. One expert indicated he knew of
only six. This particular 454 cubic inch 1970 Camaro is even more
special - it is the only 1970 Camaro ordered from Berger Chevrolet
and delivered new with the "dealer installed" 454 cubic
inch engine option. At the time, Berger Chevrolet was a famous high
performance Chevrolet dealer, having ordered and delivered as many
as 45 427 cubic inch COPO Camaros! The car has 8,300 original miles!
